The Ohio Association of Foodbanks and their 12 Feeding America foodbanks, 3,601 member food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and supplemental feeding programs are proud to be this year's event beneficiary so they can continue to serve all of Ohio’s 88 counties!
Participants, you can select the swag items you would like to be shipped directly to your home! You can select as many items as you would like including a navy hooded performance fleece sweatshirt, heathered navy ringspun cotton/poly blend short or long sleeve shirt (they are so soft!), 2020 Ohio Strong race bib and a wooden bamboo finishers medal with leather neck ribbon.
We have good news! For those who have registered late for a race and not received a shirt or other goodies you are in luck. The best part about this race is that EVERY registrant is guaranteed all the swag they order including the race shirts! We will be placing the order for all swag on Monday, June 1.
100% percent of all fundraising, donations, and a portion of the proceeds from the sales of the Ohio Strong Virtual Races swag will benefit the Ohio Association of Foodbanks. The funds will then be distributed to all regional locations to help feed anyone in need in Ohio. You can help by donating today and/or fundraising for your race. A single dollar can help with four meals for those in need during this unexpected time.
The Ohio Association of Foodbanks' network is made up of 12 Feeding America foodbanks and 3,601 member food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and supplemental feeding programs, serving all of Ohio’s 88 counties.
Together, the network distributed 229,546,132 pounds of food in 2019, including everything from fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy items, and meats and protein to breads, dry goods, and shelf-stable foods.
Those nearly 230 million pounds of food served Ohio families 3,438,315 times. Some of those households came to a food pantry just once for help in an emergency. Others came a handful of times when paychecks came up short. Still others rely on the network regularly for help. The Ohio Association of Foodbanks strive to be there when Ohioans need them.
In total, Ohio's foodbanks provided food to 9,458,206 individuals in 2019, including 2,871,974 children (30.4%), 4,689,228 adults (49.6%), and 1,897,004 seniors (20.0%).
The regional foodbanks in Ohio are: Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Greater Cleveland Foodbank, Freestore Foodbank, Mid-Ohio Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, Second Harvest Food Bank of Mahoning Valley, Second Harvest Food Bank of Clark, Champaign & Logan Counties, SE Ohio Foodbank and Kitchen, Shared Harvest Foodbank, The Foodbank, Inc., Toledo Northwestern Ohio Foodbank and West Ohio Foodbank.
